Our Story

The Farm Community is one of the largest intentional communities in the U.S. with 225+ people, 1750 acres (protected by a Trust, with an additional 1400 acres owned by one of our nonprofits as a nature preserve) and a longevity, over 50 years!

The Farm has evolved into a true ecovillage – with its own businesses, K-12 school, store, water system, 10 miles of roads, and approximately 100 homes. The community is cooperatively governed by a democratically elected board of directors, along with committees to manage membership, land use, housing and more.

During your stay you will be hosted at the Farm’s very own community center – Meadow Green Hall. Camping spots are sprinkled along the edge of the forest, and there is access to shared bathrooms, showers, and water. There are many miles of hiking trails, and a creek-fed swimming hole to enjoy during your stay. Don’t forget to support our wonderful food vendors and one-of-a-kind artisan vendors!
